"Safety- How to Get Run Over. published Nov. 10, 1929" This photo was shot for a public safety story produced by writer and photographer Larry Barber, the automobile news editor of the Oregonian. Drivers had a lot on their mind when the story was published on November 10, 1929, just 14 days after the "Black Tuesday" stock market crash that heralded the arrival of the Great Depression.
