Curtis JN-4, Barnstorming Jenny at Burns, Oregon 1920

"A "barnstorming" Curtis JN4-D (Jenny). It sports the Army Air Corp. stars on top of the wings, and is probably a surplus airplane from World War 1. It is sitting in Sweeks hay field, just east of Burns, Or. According to pg. 139 of Eugene Luckeys "Oregon True Stories," "R. R. Trask and Lt. W. D. Cannon (the pilot) set out from Bend to Burns on August 13, 1920 but got off course, and were forced to land in Pete Petersons field near the Double "O" Ranch due to a shortage of fuel. The next day, they landed at Sweeks field in Burns where they offered rides to the townspeople."
